Membership

We provide the training set-up and support necessary for everyone - from beginners to those competing at a national or even international level. Regardless of your previous running experience, we'd love you to join our team and be part of the next generation of athletes.

Training Schedule

Official club sessions will run from 0th Week to 9th Week and will be publicised via the mailing list which can be joined using the link at the bottom of this page. Club training continues over the vacations with but may vary slightly with location and timing.

The 1876 Trust

The 1876 Trust was formed in 2024 to support cross country running at the University of Oxford in a way that is open to all students, as well as encouraging success at the highest level. The Trust coordinates alumni relations and events and provides grants to the club.

We are always keen to hear from prospective applicants, and our members are more than happy to answer any questions about Oxford life, sport, and academics. 

Performance Athletes

OUCCC is a Tier 1 Blues Performance club meaning our athletes get the highest level of support from the University. We provide a mixture of high performance training and competing at one of the oldest and most successful university cross country clubs in the UK, alongside the best academic university in the world.

Scholarships

Vincent's Club awards a series of scholarships each year to current and prospective student athletes up to a value of £10,000 per year. Over the past six years the premier scholarship, the Sir Roger Bannister Award, has been awarded to a Cross Country or Athletic Club member, with many other members receiving smaller awards.

Bannister Miles

Run every year on the first May Bank Holiday, it has two components: a Community Mile held in the morning and the Track Miles in the afternoon. The Community Mile sees over 1,300 people participating, while the Track Miles has seen eight athletes braking the 4-min barrier over the past two years. Previous winners include Olympians Georgia Bell and Osama Meslek.

Teddy Hall Relays

Teddy Hall Relays is an established part of the student running calendar, attracting entries from university teams across the country and many teams from local athletics clubs and residents. The current race covers a 4x4.35 mile course over the three bridges, through Christ Church Meadow and starting/finishing on the Iffley Road Track, followed by a post-race tea at Teddy Hall.

Blues Varsity Matches

The Inter-'Varsity Cross-Country Race is one of the oldest inter-club matches still in existence and has a rich history. Hosted on neutral ground on Wimbledon Common by the world’s oldest cross-country club, Thames Hare & Hounds, it is an iconic race and an experience unlike no other in club cross-country races.
